Szanowni Państwo, dementujemy nieprawdziwe informacje podane w ostatnim czasie w prasie na temat wyburzenia kompleksu parowozowni oraz likwidacji naszego taboru. Deklarujemy, że nie ma planów zamknięcia, czy likwidacji naszego stowarzyszenia. Ten temat nigdy nie był tematem naszych rozważań. Wręcz przeciwnie, w tej chwili prowadzimy rozmowy o przejęciu kompleksu parowozowni.
Według doniesień do wyburzenia ma iść tylko budynek nastawni bramowej Pk5 należący do PKP S.A. (fotografia poniżej).

Hello.
I am hoping to visit your open air museum at around the beginning of June 2023 ( not sure what date yet, as i am working my way through Poland ) would it be possible to pay a visit to the museum, so that I can have a look around please. If so then how much would it be ?

Having read about other Polish railway museums like the nearby Jaworzyna Śląska, I was always aware of Pyskowice. I am sop glad this web site is so informative. I tried finding information and the only information I could really find, is the information that is being debunked by this site. From what I read (I have no problem reading and understanding Polish), it seems that the Society is trying to negotiate with various bodies in order to take things under their ownership. I can see real gems there, like the BIPA double decker carriages – the older type with the sloping roof at the ends. When my parents took my sister and me to Poland 1969-1978, for years it was an absolute dream to travel in one of these. In England there are no double decker trains (well apart from the two DD units which ran on the Dartford line and were 1.5 deckers really -two preserved ones in the UK). Finally after many years of just seeing them and 'salivating’ with the desire to ride, we rode one from Leszno to Poznan. But it was dark AND so crowded that we could only get a seat on the lower deck. The extremely smooth ride (with the Jacobsen bogies) was noted, but the desire was not fulfilled.
Carrying on, the site has real gems – the ex Berlin Underground train that was taken as reparations after the war, had a pantograph fitted and used in POland – although it’s peers still ran in Berlin till I think the 1990’s. Loads of other old carriages that I remember on secondary lines still pulled by steam locos like the Nowy Sącz to Krynica along the River Poprad valley near Piwniczna.
So I have an appreciation of Polish and English trains. I do assist in the restoration of a London Underground train in England, so appreciate what it takes. English preservationists had a start from something like here. Unfortunately it is so easy for me to key in comments, but all I can do is wish all the best. Now I will go back to looking at this excellent web site.
